Privacy Policy

Your voice. Speech is transcribed on-device using Apple’s speech recognition. The audio recording itself is never uploaded, never stored, and never sent to any third party.

Each time you hold the key and ask, two things are sent:

• The text your speech was transcribed into.
• One still image of your screen, captured at that moment. It is a capture of the display Blender is on, with our own on-screen elements excluded — so anything else visible on that display at that moment is part of the image. There is no continuous recording and nothing is captured except at the moment you ask.

These go to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic to generate that one answer. The text of the answer is then sent to OpenAI to be spoken aloud. Our server does not keep your question or your screen image — it passes them through and records only how many tokens the request used, for quota and billing. Anthropic and OpenAI handle what they receive under their own API terms, as processors for that single request.

macOS will ask your permission before the app can capture your screen, and you can withdraw it at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.

• Your email address — from Sign in with Apple. If you chose to hide it, what we hold is Apple’s private relay address, not your real one.
• Your account id — the identifier your account is keyed by.
• Usage counts — how many answers you have used, and per-day totals of how much model capacity your requests consumed. This is what enforces the free allowance. It is not behavioural analytics: we do not record what you asked, what you were making, or what you did in the app.
• If paid plans ship in a later version, your subscription status will be stored against your account too.

This is held in Supabase (authentication) and Cloudflare (our server and its database), acting as processors for us. We keep it for as long as your account exists.

We do not collect your name. We do not use any advertising or analytics SDK. There is no device identifier, no fingerprinting, and no tracking — your data is never linked with data from other companies, never shared with data brokers, and never used for advertising.

If you choose to share crash reports with developers in macOS, Apple may pass us crash diagnostics. Those come from Apple, not from anything the app collects itself.

Your sign-in is held in your Mac’s Keychain so you do not have to sign in every time. The screenshot is held in memory for the length of the question and is never written to a file — there is no capture folder and no history of what you asked.

Your questions, your screen images, and your account data are never used to train any model — not by us, and not by the providers who process them on our behalf.

The app installs a small open-source add-on into Blender. It is read-only: it reports where Blender’s panels are on your screen, over a local connection on your own machine, so the pointer lands on the right control. It sends nothing over the internet and it cannot change your scene.

Help3D is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app.
